Minoltra B.V.          Bevrachting & Tankvaart

General information

Minoltra B.V. is a fairly young company. Established in 1998 on August 4th.
The purpose of Minoltra B.V. is the transportation of liquid mineral- and semi chemical products in tankerbarges in bulk on the inland canals and rivers. Our barges, ranging in size from 1,000 MT up to 3,177 MT (1,200 m³ to 4,300 m³) navigate the canals and rivers of the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and all the way up the Rhine into Switzerland.
Our company succeeded its "break-even" point at the beginning of the year 2000.

    Some numbers

The year 1998 was a starting year in which a total of abt 100,000 MT was transported. Barges needed acquiring, clients needed to be acquired.
The year 1999 was closed in quadrupling the amount transported to over 400,000 MT. Although the year 1999 was in facto one of the worst years in decades, nevertheless we managed to attract several barges to our company and clients have given us their faith in handling their goods. A trust that has been greatly appreciated by us on both accounts, on part of the bargeowners and of course our clients.
This year, the new millennium, was set in even more drastically then the previous year. But the demand took a swing in May/June and again half of August. At the end of August we already transported in excess of 400,000 MT. This combined with the strong demand to oil in general, our sector can recuperate from the previous 18 months of decay.

      Insurance

All of our barges are insured as required Casco and Protection & Indemnity. Even so, our company has an insurance policy for protection and Indemnity with "The Shipowners Mutual Protection and Indemnity Association (Luxembourg)" (Entry 55/0182) in accordance with the rules of the Inland Craft-Class-VII, including the Charterers' Clause.
This entry is to cover the Charterers, as a member of the association, subject to the Rules, but the Association's liability is subject to the provisions of Rule 20(d) and is hereby increased by a further US $ 50,000,000.00, each ship, any one incident or each cargo voyage.
In respect of tankers chartered under the Standard German Tanker Charter Party (TTB), the US $ 50,000,000.00 limit mentioned in this clause is increased to US $ 100,000,000.00.
